Red currant compote with orange and mint in a 3-liter jar for the winter

The drink is rich in vitamins and beneficial properties that the body really needs during the winter. Currants in combination with orange will give the compote a sweet and sour taste, and a sprig of mint added to the drink will refresh it.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
First you need to start preparing the can and the lid for seaming, as this is the most difficult and time-consuming process. Before rolling up the compote, the jar and lid must be cleaned and rinsed. When the container is dry, we sterilize it for about 15 minutes.
step 2 out of 5
Now let's start processing currant berries. First, you need to remove them from the branches and discard the spoiled berries. Then, pour the berries for seaming compote into a colander and rinse.
step 3 out of 5
You will also need half an orange for seaming. We wash the fruit and cut it into two halves. Then cut one of the halves into slices.
step 4 out of 5
Now we rinse the sprig of mint and shake off excess moisture. We put all the ingredients in a 3-liter jar and pour the required amount of water into the pan to get boiling water. Fill the fruits and mint with boiling liquid. We cover the jar with a lid and wait for the drink to infuse (this will take about 10 minutes).
step 5 out of 5
Now we just need to drain the infusion without ingredients back into the pan and add sugar. When the liquid boils, pour it into a jar. We roll up and check if there are any places where the compote is leaking. Then let the drink cool under a warm blanket.

Bon Appetit!
