Red currant compote with mint

A refreshing drink with a slight sourness and mint aroma will perfectly quench your thirst on a hot day. Poured into a decanter, it will be an excellent solution on any festive table instead of purchased juices and lemonades. Compote is prepared quickly and is not at all difficult, but it is very pleasant to enjoy it.

Remove the berries from the branch and remove debris from it. Soak the currants in cold water for 20 minutes and then rinse well under running water. Rinse the mint from dust.

Pour water into a saucepan and boil. Put currants and mint in it and add sugar. Cook the compote for 5 minutes over medium heat.

Leave the liquid to cool completely and saturate for 3 hours. Pour the compote into a decanter and serve.
