Red currant compote with mint and lemon for the winter

This drink is similar in composition to mojito, which evokes associations with summer. However, this compote contains all the components, vitamins and minerals that are simply necessary in the season of colds. Red currant with lemon will enrich you with vitamin C, and mint, in addition to vitamins, will give you freshness and invigorating aroma.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 6
We wash the red currant berries directly with the twigs in a large amount of water. If necessary, you can soak for a short time so that all the debris floats to the surface.
step 2 out of 6
Then we put them in a colander and leave until all the liquid has drained from the berries. In parallel with this, rinse the mint sprigs and slice the lemon not very thinly.
step 3 out of 6
In the prepared sterilized jar, we lower the sprigs of red currants, mint and lemon, taking up about 1/3 of the jar, and the rest of the place will be directly for the syrup.
step 4 out of 6
Let's make the sugar syrup. Gradually add sugar to cold water, stirring everything with a spoon, and bring the contents to a boil. Then carefully pour the boiling syrup into the jar, trying not to touch the walls. We fill it to the very edge. Leave the compote to cool for 10 minutes.
step 5 out of 6
After this time, pour the water into the pan using a special drain cap so that the berries do not float away.
step 6 out of 6
Bring the berry broth to a boil again and immediately return it to the jar. Such an uncomplicated cooking process. Roll up the compote with a sterilized lid, turn over and cool, covering with a blanket or towel.
We wish you good mood and bon appetit!
