Red currant compote with twigs

It takes a lot of effort and time to sort out the red currant and cut off all its small berries from the twigs. We offer the simplest recipe for compote from this vitamin berry, for which you will not have to pick off tender currants from the branches. The presence of twigs does not affect the final taste of the compote, but the ease of labor and time savings are obvious.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
Rinse the red currants thoroughly. You can place it in a large colander and place it under running water. During washing, the berries with defects and dry branches are removed. Let the washed berries dry a little.
step 2 out of 5
Put red currants with twigs in pre-sterilized jars.
step 3 out of 5
To prepare the syrup, pour the specified amount of water into the bulk dish, add granulated sugar and place the container on the stove. Bring the liquid to a boil and cook for a couple of minutes so that all the sugar is completely dissolved.
step 4 out of 5
During the cooking of the syrup, we sterilize the lids for rolling the compote.
step 5 out of 5
Pour red currants with twigs in jars with ready-made hot syrup. Roll up immediately with sterile lids. We turn the rolled up cans upside down to check the tightness. We wrap the jars in a blanket and thus let them cool slowly. After cooling, put it in a cool, dark place for storage.
