Raspberry and cherry compote

If you like to prepare various compotes for the winter, you should definitely prepare a fragrant and vitamin-rich compote from raspberries and cherries. This compote will be a great alternative to store drinks.

Prepare the necessary ingredients for the raspberry and cherry compote. Put the cherries in a sieve, rinse thoroughly and let the excess liquid drain. Sort out debris and insects from raspberries. Pour boiling water over the lemon. Prepare jars, wash thoroughly and sterilize in the oven or in a water bath. Boil the lids in a saucepan for 7-10 minutes.

Put the cherries on the bottom of sterile jars. Put the raspberries in jars on top of the cherries. Cut the lemon into wedges and put one wedge in each jar.

Boil water in a kettle or saucepan and pour over prepared jars of berries. Cover with sterile lids and leave to infuse for 15-20 minutes.

Pour the water from the cans into a saucepan. Place on medium heat.

Add the required amount of granulated sugar and citric acid. Stir and bring to a boil. Adjust the amount of granulated sugar according to your own taste preferences. Pour the prepared syrup over the jars of berries.

Cover the jars of compote with lids and carefully roll up with a seaming machine. Turn the jars of raspberry and cherry compote upside down. Leave in this position until it cools completely, wrapping the jars in a warm blanket.
