Raspberry and black currant compote in a 3 liter jar for the winter

Each variety of black currant is noticeably different in taste, which makes the compotes of each housewife different from each other. However, having harvested ripe and incredibly juicy berries, your drink cannot turn out to be tasteless. Moreover, few people will not fall in love with the balanced combination of sour currants and the natural sweetness of raspberries.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
Initially, we carefully examine the raspberries. For greater confidence, it is better to soak them for a short while in salted water. This way, we get rid of worms and other debris. Then we put the berries in a colander and leave to dry.
step 2 out of 5
Remove the black currant from the branches and rinse thoroughly. Then we put the washed berries in a colander to get rid of excess moisture.
step 3 out of 5
Since we close the compote for the winter, we need to prepare the jars. First, we rinse them with baking soda or any other cleaning agent, and then sterilize them over steam. You can also resort to using an oven or microwave.
step 4 out of 5
By this stage, we managed to prepare the jars and dry the berries, then proceed directly to the preparation of compote. At the bottom of the cans we lower the berries of raspberries and black currants, alternating them with each other. Pour granulated sugar on top of the berries.
step 5 out of 5
Fill the contents with boiling water and cover with a lid. We send the compote to be sterilized in a saucepan with hot water, laying a towel on the bottom. Sterilization will take about 10-15 minutes of your time. Then we remove the cans with compote from the pan and roll them up with sterilized lids using a kitchen key. Cool the finished drink upside down, wrap it in a blanket, and send it for storage.
We wish you bon appetite!
