Raspberry and apple compote

The combination of apples and raspberries is incredibly successful. Apples give the compote a fruity base, while raspberries provide a bright aromatic and colorful accent. In winter, such a drink with only one color will already evoke the feeling of summer. In the process of preparing compote, apples require preliminary cooking for softening, since they differ in texture from raspberries.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 4
We sort out the raspberries, get rid of the berries with defects. Place the raspberries in a colander and rinse them under running water. After rinsing, let the water drain.
step 2 out of 4
Apples for compote can be used from a re-grading, since all defective places can be simply cut out. Rinse the apples thoroughly before slicing.
step 3 out of 4
We cut the apples into slices, simultaneously cutting off the seed pods and all defective areas.
step 4 out of 4
We pre-sterilize the compote jar. We place prepared raspberries in it. Fill them with boiling water, let stand for five minutes. Place the apple slices in a saucepan. We drain the water from the jar into a saucepan with apples, add granulated sugar. We put the pot on the stove and cook the apples for three to four minutes. After that, pour the water and apples back into the jar to the raspberries. We immediately roll up the lids. We turn the jar upside down in order to check the tightness. We wrap it in this position with a blanket and let it cool slowly. It is recommended to store compote in a cool dark place.
