Sea buckthorn and apple compote in a 3-liter jar for the winter

Sea buckthorn and apple compote turns out to be very rich and aromatic, the drink tastes like pineapple. We recommend making a compote with mint and cinnamon for a brighter smell.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 6
Let's start cooking by processing apples. First, they need to be thoroughly rinsed: each fruit separately. Then the apples need to be cut in half to make it easier to remove the core. The most convenient way to do this is with a knife. Then the halves of the apples must be cut into slices.
step 2 out of 6
Sea buckthorn must be sorted out. Separate each berry from the twigs. We shift the sea buckthorn into a colander and rinse with running water. We leave the colander with berries in the sink to drain excess moisture.
step 3 out of 6
To roll compote, we need a 3-liter jar. First, it, along with the lid, must be cleaned with baking soda, and then rinsed and sent for sterilization.
step 4 out of 6
Now we put in the jar first the apple slices, and then the sea buckthorn berries. Pour purified water into a saucepan or electric kettle and bring to a boil. Pour boiling water over the ingredients. The water should reach the top of the jar. Cover the container with a lid and leave for 10 minutes.
step 5 out of 6
We wash out the mint sprig and soak it with a paper towel to absorb excess moisture. We drain the liquid from the jar into the pan. Add mint and a cinnamon stick to it. Pour in sugar. Stir the syrup and bring to a boil. We extract the cinnamon and mint. Pour the syrup into a jar.
step 6 out of 6
We roll up the container with a lid and turn the jar upside down. We wrap it up and let it cool, then transfer it to the pantry.
Bon Appetit!
