Rhubarb and apple compote

For compotes, I want to choose as many interesting combinations as possible in order to pamper my family and guests! The apple and rhubarb compote turns out to be very aromatic and rich. Rhubarb will add a special, natural sweetness, and therefore it is better to take apples with a slight sourness.

We wash the rhubarb and cut into strips 3 cm long.

Wash the apples, peel them of seeds and cut them into 6-8 slices.

We send apples and rhubarb to boiling water, add a stick of cinnamon and vanilla, as well as sugar. Reduce heat and bring water to a boil again.

We wash the lemon and remove the zest from it. Add it to the compote and cook for another 3 - 5 minutes.

Before serving, we insist 8 hours. And serve chilled.
