Garden blackberry compote for the winter

Garden berries are placed in a jar and poured with sugar syrup with citric acid. Everything is rolled up with lids, the cans are turned upside down and left to cool completely.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 7
We sort out the blackberries, remove the berries with defects and rinse them under running water. We put it in a colander and wait for all the liquid to drain.
step 2 out of 7
We sterilize the jars in advance and carefully put the blackberries in them so that the berries do not wrinkle.
step 3 out of 7
Take a deep saucepan and pour granulated sugar, citric acid into it and mix.
step 4 out of 7
Next, pour in drinking water and put it on fire. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, and cook for another 2 minutes so that the sugar is completely dissolved.
step 5 out of 7
Carefully pour the syrup up to the "shoulder" of the jar and roll it up with a sterile lid.
step 6 out of 7
Now we turn the jar of compote upside down, wrap it in a towel or blanket and leave it in this way overnight so that everything cools completely.
step 7 out of 7
We send the finished compote to a dark, cool storage place. The drink can be stored for 12-14 months. You can make ice from it, pour it over oatmeal, or pour it into glasses and drink it neat. Bon Appetit!
