Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 6
For the preparation of compote, we will use ripe and dense plums and apples so that the fruit does not lose its shape during processing with boiling water. We wash them under warm running water, put them on a kitchen towel so that they dry a little from the water.
step 2 out of 6
Prepare sugar syrup: pour water into a saucepan, add sugar, stir and set on fire to boil.
step 3 out of 6
We wash the compote jar with baking soda, rinse well with water and set it to sterilize over steam for 3-5 minutes.
step 4 out of 6
At this time, let's take care of the fruit: cut the apples into 4-6 parts and remove the stalk and core. Cut the plums in half lengthwise and remove the seeds.
step 5 out of 6
Put the fruit in a sterilized jar, fill it with hot syrup, cover it with a lid and put it in a deep saucepan with a cotton towel at the bottom. Fill the pot with warm water so that the water reaches the shoulders of the jar. Put the saucepan over medium heat and bring the water to a boil. Then we reduce the fire a little and sterilize the compote for 10-12 minutes.
step 6 out of 6
Carefully remove the jar with the ready-made compote from the pan using a stick and seal it tightly with a lid. We turn the jar upside down, check the tightness, wrap it with a terry towel and leave it to cool completely at room temperature. Then we put the compote for storage in a dark, cool place, where during storage it will retain its beautiful rich color and acquire an amazing taste and aroma.
