Many people do not even know that grapes can be used to make not only wine, but a healthy and tasty compote for the winter table. The procurement is simple and does not take much time. In this recipe, add citric acid to the compote, because grapes are often very sweet, and citric acid will enhance the color and aroma of the drink and will be a preservative. We prepare compote in 3-liter jars and using the double pouring method.

Separate the grapes from the branch carefully so as not to damage the pulp and select the damaged and overripe fruits. Then rinse them thoroughly under running water and leave in a colander to drain excess liquid.

Wash 3-liter jars in advance and sterilize them in a way convenient for you. Boil the lids.

Pour clean grapes into jars, filling them by at least 1/3 of their volume.

In a saucepan, boil the sugar syrup from the volume of water and sugar calculated for the number of cans. Pour boiling syrup over the grapes in a jar, placing a metal fork or scoop in it so that the glass does not burst.

Then cover the jars with sterile lids and leave for 15 minutes to infuse the compote.

After 15 minutes, return the syrup from the jars through a special lid back to the saucepan and boil for 2-3 minutes over low heat.

Re-pour the grapes in the jars with hot syrup and immediately roll them up with lids. Check the tightness of the seaming.

Put the jars on the lids and cover with a warm blanket overnight. Transfer the cooled compote to the storage place for your canned food.
