Grape compote with lemon in a 3-liter jar for the winter

Grape compote has a milder taste in comparison with grape juice, so this drink is often harvested for the winter, and the addition of lemon gives the compote color stability and pleasant citrus notes. For compote with lemon, take light grape varieties. The amount of sugar is determined by the natural sweetness of the fruit and, on average, take a glass of sugar in a 3-liter jar. Prepare compote using the double pouring method.

Prepare the ingredients for the compote in a 3-liter jar in advance in the amount indicated in the recipe.

Rinse the jar well with baking soda and sterilize with hot steam for 15 minutes.

Boil the sealer in a small saucepan for 5 minutes.

Carefully separate the grapes from the brush and rinse well under running water.

Wash the lemon with a brush, scald with boiling water to remove the bitterness of the zest and then cut it into thin circles.

Put the washed grapes in a prepared jar and place lemon circles on top of them.

Then pour boiling water over the grapes with lemon. Cover the jar with a lid and leave for 10 minutes to blanch the fruit.

After 10 minutes, pour the water from the jar through a special lid into a saucepan, dissolve a glass of sugar in it and boil the syrup for 2 minutes.

Pour the boiling syrup over the fruit in the jar, filling it to the top of the neck, and immediately seal the jar tightly with a lid. Check the seaming for leaks.

Put the jar with grape compote on the lid and cover with a warm blanket for 10-12 hours.

After complete cooling, transfer the compote to storage in the cellar. Such compote will be well stored in an apartment, only in a dark place.
