Cherry is one of the most popular berries for winter harvesting. You can preserve its taste and aroma by making a cherry compote. This compote is refreshing, leaving the impression that a slightly sour taste is dissolved in a sweet syrup. Cherry compote is a preparation for the winter that will delight every family member!

We sort out the cherries and rinse them thoroughly.

Pour clean berries into the prepared jar.

Gently and gradually pour boiling water into a jar of berries. Cover the jar with a boiled lid and leave for 15 minutes.

Mix the required amount of granulated sugar with citric acid.

The water from the jar must be drained into a container with granulated sugar and citric acid. Immediately put the container with the contents on the fire. We mix. Cook the syrup until the sugar crystals are completely dissolved.

We turn the compote upside down, wrap it with a warm towel or blanket, leave it in this form for a day until it cools completely. Then we store it in a cool place.
