Juicy sweet and sour apples are ideal for compotes. Here is one of the simplest and fastest recipes for making apple compote for the winter in a 3-liter jar.

Wash the apples, cut out the attachment points of the stalk and inflorescences.

Wash and sterilize a three-liter jar. Place the apples in the jar; they should be about 1/3 of the volume. Boil water in a saucepan and pour boiling water into a jar, leave for 20 minutes.

Drain the water from the jar into a saucepan, boil it again and pour it back into the jar, leave for 20 minutes.
