Apple compote with citric acid for the winter

No matter how varied the selection of juices and lemonades in the store, there is nothing better and healthier than homemade compote, prepared with love and care. Having made the compote yourself, you will definitely be sure that there are no preservatives and dyes, but only natural ingredients.

Wash the apples and discard them in a colander to drain the water.

Cut apples into wedges, core with seeds and tails.

Put apples in prepared sterilized jars, pour boiling water over and leave for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, drain the water into a saucepan, add sugar and citric acid. Bring the syrup to a boil and cook for 2 minutes to completely dissolve the sugar.

Then pour the sweet syrup into the jars and roll up the lids. Turn the rolls upside down, wrap them in a blanket and leave to cool completely. Compote is completely ready, store it in a cool place.
