Strawberry jam with starch

If you need to make a jam for homemade baked goods or a layer of desserts, use this quick and easy recipe. The strawberry jam with starch turns out to be quite thick and keeps its shape. Corn starch or potato starch acts as a thickener.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 8
Prepare the ingredients for the starch strawberry jam. Use corn or potato starch. I use cornstarch for desserts.
step 2 out of 8
Pour the required amount of granulated sugar into a small saucepan with a thick bottom, and then pour in 200 ml of drinking water.
step 3 out of 8
Pour corn or potato starch into the remaining 100 ml of drinking water and mix thoroughly.
step 4 out of 8
Put the saucepan over low heat and pour in the diluted starch in a thin stream. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. It is best to stir with a whisk so that no lumps form.
step 5 out of 8
Sort the strawberries carefully. Put the strawberries in a sieve, rinse well and let the excess liquid drain. Place the prepared berries in a blender bowl and chop until smooth.
step 6 out of 8
As soon as the starch mass boils, add the chopped strawberries, mix thoroughly and bring to a boil. And then remove from heat.
step 7 out of 8
Wash the jars thoroughly and sterilize in the microwave. Pour boiling water over the lids. Jars and lids must be completely dry. Pour the hot jam gently into sterile jars. Tighten the jars of strawberry jam with sterile lids. Cool completely. After cooling completely, transfer to refrigerator.
step 8 out of 8
Use the cooled starch strawberry jam as needed. Be sure to store such jam in the refrigerator.

Enjoy!
