Prepare the marinade. Pour the required amount of drinking water into a saucepan with a thick bottom, add ketchup, table vinegar, granulated sugar, salt, bay leaves and black peppercorns. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are completely dissolved. Put the saucepan with the contents over medium heat and bring to a boil.
Carefully remove the bay leaf from the marinade, then pour jars of cucumbers with them, cover with sterile lids, after pouring boiling water over them or boiling them in a separate container.
