Chicken pies with chicken and potatoes

Kurnik is a traditional Russian cuisine pie stuffed with chicken or turkey meat. In the old days, kurnik was served on big holidays. I propose to use a wonderful recipe and cook mouth-watering chicken and potato chicken poultry. Homemade cakes are incredibly tasty and aromatic.

Prepare the dough. Cut chilled good quality butter into small pieces and place in a container.

After that, sift the required amount of wheat flour through a fine sieve, grind it into crumbs.

Then pour in the required amount of chilled milk, break the chicken egg, add salt and mix thoroughly.

Knead the resulting dough well, put it in a ball, place in a plastic bag or wrap with cling film and place in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

In the meantime, prepare the filling. Chicken meat - chicken breast or chicken thigh fillet, wash well, pat dry with paper towels, then cut into small pieces. Peel the onions and chop finely.

Wash the potatoes well, peel them with a peeler, and then cut them into thin slices. Combine potatoes with chicken and onions. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir the filling thoroughly.

Roll out the rested dough with a rolling pin into an even circle about 5-7 millimeters thick. Divide each circle into four parts. Place the filling in the center of each part of the dough.

Gently pinch the edges of the dough to create neat boats. Shake the chicken yolk well, and then grease the chicken on top with the resulting mass using a silicone brush.
