Kvass is a popular drink, because it is able to give a feeling of freshness and invigorate in any weather. Here is a recipe for making kvass at home from rye bread without using yeast. This drink is not difficult to prepare, just follow the steps described in the recipe. The output will be a wonderful cooling kvass!

Rye bread must be cut into small cubes and dried until golden brown in an oven preheated to 160 degrees for 10-15 minutes. The airfryer will also perfectly cope with this task.

Let's start preparing the leaven. We fill the container with rye croutons (200 g), add granulated sugar (0.5 tbsp) there and pour warm water (500 ml). We mix everything, put the container in a warm place for 2 days. The finished starter culture will have a cloudy appearance and a pronounced sour smell. The remaining amount of ingredients specified in the recipe will be used in the future to make kvass.

After a while, add another 50 grams of rye croutons, granulated sugar (it can be adjusted to your own taste) into the container with the starter culture and top up with warm water to the brim. Cover the container with a dry cloth and put it in a warm place for another 24 hours.

Next, the drink must be filtered, poured into more convenient containers (for example, in plastic bottles). We close the containers with lids, after placing several pieces of unwashed raisins in them. We put the kvass in a warm place for another 4-5 hours, then put it in the refrigerator for cooling for 3 hours.
