I want to share a delicious recipe for sharp kvass, prepared at home using kvass wort. Kvass prepared in this way can be drunk as a thirst-quenching drink or used to make okroshka.

Prepare the ingredients you need to make your homemade drink.

Pour warm boiled water into a three-liter jar. Add the required amount of granulated sugar according to your taste preference. Then add the kvass wort concentrate. Mix thoroughly. It is better to use a wooden spoon for these purposes, so as not to accidentally break the jar.

Chop the compressed yeast with a knife and add to the jar with the contents and mix gently. You can also use dry yeast, you need one and a half teaspoons. The amount of the remaining ingredients remains unchanged.

Close the jar with a tight nylon lid and place in a warm place, but not in the sun. After about 12-20 hours, a small foam forms on the surface of the liquid, which indicates that the kvass is ready for use.

Place the finished homemade kvass in the refrigerator for cooling, and then serve. To prepare such kvass again, add granulated sugar to taste, kvass wort concentrate and a few slices of rye bread to the sourdough remaining at the bottom of the jar, pour warm water and leave at room temperature until foam forms on the surface.
