Kvass made from rye flour sourdough is a drink loved by many generations. Nowadays, despite the great abundance of drinks, it is impossible to find kvass, the taste of which has been familiar to us since childhood. But this is not a reason to despair. This drink can be prepared at home. And for this you need a minimum set of ingredients. In the recipe that is presented to your attention, the amount of ingredients is calculated for the preparation of three liters of the drink.

We measure 150 grams of dry bread kvass into a dry bowl.

Then we pour it into a three-liter glass jar, which must be pre-rinsed with baking soda and rinsed thoroughly.

The next step is to fill the kvass with boiling water, filling the jar to half, and cover the jar with a lid. We are waiting for a couple of hours.

After two hours, add warm water to the hanger into the jar. Pour sugar into the jar.

Mix the contents of the jar thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved. Then we cover the jar with a napkin and leave it for half an hour so that the resulting mass is cooled to 30 degrees.

The next step is to send rye sourdough to the resulting mass. Mix everything thoroughly again. It is thanks to the sourdough that the ingredients will begin to ferment.

Cover the jar with a napkin again and leave the drink for a day on the windowsill on the south side. If desired, for the appearance of additional aroma, a crust of bread can be lowered into the resulting mass.

A day later, foam should appear on the surface of the kvass. In addition, the drink will begin to exude a characteristic aroma. Strain the drink with gauze and then send it to the refrigerator.
