Lasagne in tomato sauce

Lasagna in tomato sauce is a rather troublesome dish, but the time and effort spent on preparing it is definitely worth it. By using dough sheets that do not require boiling, you can shorten the cooking time for this traditional Italian dish. If there are no such, of course, ordinary sheets are also suitable, which must first be boiled.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 9
We wash the onions, peel and cut into small cubes. Heat a frying pan with a small amount of vegetable oil until hot and pour the onion into it. With constant stirring, sauté the onion pieces until translucent.
step 2 out of 9
Peel the carrots, rinse and grate with large holes. Add the carrots to the onions, stir and continue to fry on medium-low temperature until the carrots are soft. This will take five to seven minutes.
step 3 out of 9
Add the minced meat to the sautéed vegetables, stir with a spatula and fry for ten minutes. Lumps of minced meat must be broken so that the mass in the pan is relatively homogeneous.
step 4 out of 9
We wash the tomatoes, dry them and hit the trail of the stalk with the tip of a knife. Place the tomatoes in a blender bowl and chop until puree.
step 5 out of 9
Salt the resulting tomato puree to taste, add black ground pepper and pour it into the pan to the meat-and-vegetable mixture. Stir everything until smooth and continue stewing for another ten minutes. We do not close the lid, we maintain the temperature of the plate at medium intensity. After the specified time has elapsed, remove the pan from the stove.
step 6 out of 9
Put a few tablespoons of the cooked meat sauce in the dish in which the lasagna will be baked. We distribute it around the perimeter of the form. If you use dough sheets that do not require pre-cooking, lay them dry on top of the sauce. If the dough needs to be boiled, we do it according to the instructions on the package. We are already placing the boiled dough on the sauce.
step 7 out of 9
After a layer of sheets, lay out the tomato-meat sauce again and cover it with a layer of dough. Thus, we use the entire number of sheets of dough and the entire volume of tomato and meat filling. We try to layer the lasagne evenly. Do not forget to fully coat the edges of the lasagna with the filling, otherwise, when baking, they may turn out to be too dry.
step 8 out of 9
Pour all the specified amount of cream onto the formed lasagna. Cover the surface with a layer of cheese grated on a coarse grater.
step 9 out of 9
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Place the lasagna dish on a medium level and bake for forty minutes. To achieve even baking and juiciness of the lasagna, we recommend covering the mold with foil with the shiny side inward for the first half hour. Towards the end of baking, remove the foil and continue to bake the dish open so that the crust is browned. We take the finished lasagna out of the oven and serve it on the table right in the mold. Decorate with fresh herbs if desired.

Bon Appetit!
