Lazy cabbage rolls with sauerkraut

Cabbage rolls are one of the most popular dishes of Russian national cuisine. Traditional stuffed cabbage rolls take a long time to cook and require special attention. But lazy cabbage rolls are no worse. They are delicious and juicy.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 9
Drain the juice from the sauerkraut. If it is cut into rather large pieces, then you need to chop it into small pieces. Then we send it to a saucepan, fill it with broth (200 ml.) And simmer over moderate heat, stirring occasionally.
step 2 out of 9
Peel the onion and cut it into small pieces. We send the onion to the sauerkraut and mix.
step 3 out of 9
Now we boil the rice. We wash the cereals and send them to boiling water. We will cook in the following way. After the rice boils again, remove it from the heat and let it brew in hot water for 20 minutes. Then we will drain the water.
step 4 out of 9
To prepare the sauce, you need to fry the flour in a pan so that it is slightly browned. Then we combine it with sour cream. We mix.
step 5 out of 9
Add broth (200 ml) to the mixture, pour it out in a small stream, stirring constantly.
step 6 out of 9
Pour into a saucepan or stewpan and put on the stove, stirring, bring to a boil. Then we reduce the heat and cook for a couple of minutes. Stir the sauce well with a whisk.
step 7 out of 9
Now in a deep bowl, mix all the products: rice, minced meat, cabbage. Add your favorite seasonings and a little salt to the ingredients.
step 8 out of 9
We form oblong, oval cakes. We spread them on a form greased with vegetable oil and pour the prepared sour cream sauce on top. The sauce will give the dish a nice crispy crust.
step 9 out of 9
We preheat the oven at a temperature of 200 degrees and put the mold in it. We bake cabbage rolls for about 30 minutes. Be sure to monitor their readiness, since the baking time also depends on the size of the cabbage rolls.

Tip: you can take any broth for making cabbage rolls: chicken, beef or vegetable. You can also use warm water for the sauce, but then it is better to add a little onion or herbs to it.

Bon Appetit!
