Lazy stuffed cabbage rolls with gravy

Lazy cabbage rolls are a staple dish in home cooking. They are prepared very simply and quickly. The gravy makes the stuffed cabbage even juicier. Their main difference from classic cabbage rolls is that cabbage becomes less noticeable and tangible. This, in turn, is a winning option for adults and children who do not recognize pure cabbage.

We wash the white cabbage, remove the outer leaves, cut in half and chop medium-sized.

Pour the chopped cabbage into a saucepan and pour boiling water over it. Thus, it will slightly cook. We leave aside for 20 minutes. If the head of cabbage is young, then you can skip this step and move on to preparing the rest of the ingredients.

Rice should be washed, then placed in a pot of water and put on fire. As soon as the rice boils, cook for literally a minute and remove from heat. Next, leave the rice in this state for about 7-10 minutes. During this time, it will reach half-readiness.

Peel the onions and cut into small cubes.

We wash the carrots, remove the peel and rub on a coarse grater.

Finely chop the cloves of garlic with a knife (you can skip through the garlic).

We put the pan on the fire, pour in a little vegetable oil and send the onions to fry (about a couple of minutes). To warm up, turn on the oven, setting the temperature regime to 200 degrees.

Put a couple of tablespoons of fried onions in a separate container for subsequent addition to the minced meat.

Pour the carrots into the pan to the onion and cook everything together for another 2-3 minutes.

When ready, set aside 3 tablespoons of vegetables. They will be necessary for laying out on the bottom of the baking dish.

Next, add wheat flour to the carrots and onions, mix everything.

Then we combine the contents of the pan and the tomato paste.

Wash the tomatoes. Then there are two options: you can cut them into small cubes and add to the pan, or grind them with a blender. We simmer everything for 2-3 minutes.

Next, add salt, sugar, chopped garlic, pepper to taste and water to the frying.Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes more.

Drain all the liquid from the cabbage (you can use a slotted spoon or a colander) and transfer it to a deep container.

Add minced meat, fried onions to the cabbage and drive in an egg. Season with salt and pepper.

Then we form cabbage rolls with our hands and put them in a mold. Next, place the dish in a hot oven for about 20 minutes.

When a minimal crust has formed on the stuffed cabbage, we take the dish out of the oven and put the gravy with vegetables on top. The gravy should completely cover the cabbage rolls. After that, lower the oven temperature to 170 degrees and place the dish there for 30 minutes.
