We select ripe, but strong tomatoes that keep their shape perfectly, remove the tails. Then we rinse and dry. We also rinse the basil. If it's a little wilted, soak it in cold water for a couple of minutes. This will bring the scented herb back to life.

Put the tomatoes on the bottom of the sterilized jar, alternating them with a layer of basil. The contents of the jar must be packed tightly.

The next step is to take boiling water and completely fill the contents of the jar with it. Then we cover the jar with a lid.

We wait ten minutes, then pour the water into a saucepan, send sugar, salt, vinegar there and bring the resulting mass to a boil.
