Mannik with poppy seeds in milk

Each hostess certainly has her own signature recipe for making a quick pie when guests are on the doorstep. We want to offer our own version - manna with milk and poppy seeds. A small amount of poppy seeds gives the manna a pleasant aroma, semolina and baking powder create a wonderful tandem, as a result of which the cake has an airy and crumbly texture.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 4
Pour milk into a deep bowl, add sugar and vanillin, break 3 eggs. Using a mixer, beat all the ingredients for 2-3 minutes. During this time, the sugar will dissolve in the milk. If the sugar is not all dissolved, do not stir the mass further, it will dissolve during the swelling of the semolina.
step 2 out of 4
Next, add poppy seeds and semolina to the liquid mass, mix the ingredients well and leave for 20-30 minutes so that the semolina swells, after which the dough becomes thicker.
step 3 out of 4
After the time has elapsed, add sifted flour, baking powder and butter softened in a microwave oven to the dough. Mix all the ingredients well again until a homogeneous dough consistency, put in a form greased with vegetable oil and set the manna to bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 45-50 minutes. We check the readiness of the manna with a skewer or a toothpick.
step 4 out of 4
We take out the finished manna from the oven and let it cool for 10-15 minutes. Then we transfer it from the form to the dish, cut into portions and serve. Enjoy your tea!
