Pickled mackerel with lemon

Mackerel pickled according to this recipe turns out to be quite salted, has a delicate taste and slight sourness. This fish appetizer goes well with all kinds of potato and vegetable dishes.

The mackerel must be completely thawed to make it easier to peel.

Wash the fish, cut off the head. Make an incision along the belly and remove the insides. Rinse the carcasses well inside and out again.

Make an incision along the ridge. Wash the lemon and squeeze out the juice, distribute it evenly over the fish carcasses inside.

Mix salt and sugar, coat the mackerel inside and outside with this mixture.

Peel the onion and garlic and chop finely. Chop the remaining lemon and dill sprigs. Mix these ingredients, add peppercorns to them.
