Pickled tomatoes sweet

The most common preparation for the winter is whole pickled tomatoes. By itself, it is a vegetable that has a sweet taste. To preserve or enhance the natural flavor of tomatoes, add more sugar to the brine and supplement it with spices such as cloves, allspice or mustard.

Wash tomato pickling jars with baking soda or other cleaning agent, then sterilize. Peel the garlic cloves. Put garlic, bay leaf and peppercorns at the bottom of the jars.

Wash and dry the tomatoes. Arrange the tomatoes tightly into the jars.

Boil water in a saucepan and pour over the tomatoes. Cover the jars with lids and let them warm up for 10-15 minutes.

Drain the water back into the pot, add sugar, salt and vinegar. Bring the marinade to a boil and simmer for a couple of minutes until the sugar and salt are completely dissolved. Pour the hot marinade over the tomatoes and roll up the lids. Put the jars upside down and wrap them in a warm blanket. When the pickled tomatoes are completely cool, transfer the seals to a cool place.
