Crisp cucumbers that taste like cask cucumbers can be made at home in jars. According to the recipe, cucumbers are quite spicy, since pickled peppers are used. Such peppers can be made at home or bought in a store, they certainly will not ferment in the preparation, unlike fresh ones.

Soak the cucumbers in cold water for 5 hours to absorb moisture and become crispy.

Wash the jars with baking soda and rinse. Put in a jar horseradish leaf and root, cherry leaves, dill, garlic, peeled and cut into slices.

Place the cucumbers tightly in the jar.

Pour salt on top of them.

Boil water in a kettle, pour the contents of the jar to the top. Cover the jar with gauze and secure it with an elastic band.

Put the jar in a basin and leave to ferment for 2 days at room temperature. The brine will become cloudy and foamy.

After 2 days, pour the brine into a large saucepan, add about 300 ml of water, add a little salt. Boil the brine for 5 minutes, removing the foam. Put hot pepper in a jar of cucumbers.

Pour boiling brine over the cucumbers, filling the jars to the very neck. Roll up sterilized lids. After cooling, take the jars to the basement.
