Bulgarian cucumbers with carrots and onions in liter jars for the winter

Carrots, onions, garlic, bay leaves, peppercorns and cucumbers are put in liter jars. Then they are poured with boiling water for 15 minutes, after which the water is drained and the marinade with salt, sugar and vinegar is cooked on it. The brine is poured into cans, everything is rolled up and left to cool.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
Before cooking, we thoroughly rinse the cucumbers under running water, after which we soak them in water for several hours. We also wash and peel carrots with garlic and onions.
step 2 out of 5
We rinse one-liter jars well under hot water with soda, after which we sterilize them in any convenient way. At the bottom we put onion, carrots, cloves of garlic, bay leaf and black peppercorns, chopped into rings.
step 3 out of 5
Cut off the ends of pure cucumbers and put them tightly in jars with onions and carrots. Now pour boiling water over everything, cover with lids and let it brew for about 15 minutes. Next, pour all the liquid into a saucepan, add another quarter of a glass of water, salt, sugar there and send it to the fire. Bring to a boil, pour in the vinegar, stir and remove from the stove.
step 4 out of 5
We pour the hot marinade into jars and roll everything up with sterile lids. Now turn it upside down, wrap it in a towel or blanket and leave it to cool completely overnight.
step 5 out of 5
Store the finished cucumbers in a cool dark place. We open in winter and serve a fragrant crispy appetizer with the main course.
Bon Appetit!
