Cucumbers with onions and hot peppers for the winter

Cucumbers and onions are in perfect harmony with each other, so seaming on their basis turns out to be very tasty. An appetizer from slices of cucumber and onion is very simple to prepare, but you need to remember that you must first hold them with salt for some time. This is done so that the vegetables let the juice out, so they will be easier to fit into the jars and, as a result, will not settle.

Soak the cucumbers for 1.5-2 hours in cold water, then wash well and cut off the ends.

Cut the cucumbers into thin slices or use a special grater to make the slices the same size.

Remove the husk from the onion, cut into half rings.

Put the onions and cucumbers in one container, sprinkle them with salt and sugar, stir, cover the bowl with a flat dish and place the weight on it. Leave the vegetables for 2-3 hours for them to juicate.

Pre-sterilize jars and lids, let them dry. Pour 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil into the bottom of the jars, then put the settled vegetables in the jars, sprinkling them with black pepper. Add a few hot chili peppers to the jars, if desired.

Pour a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar into the jars.

Pour the juice from the vegetables into a saucepan, bring to a boil, cook for 2 minutes, then pour it over the jars of cucumbers and onions. If there is a lack of juice, use boiling water.

Cover the jars with lids and sterilize in a saucepan in boiling water for 12-15 minutes. Then close the lids tightly and turn the cans upside down, wrap them in a warm blanket and leave to cool. Store sewing in a cool place.
