Liver cake without mayonnaise

It is customary to make liver cake with layers of mayonnaise sauce, but this option may not appeal to fans of proper nutrition or those who like to calculate the calorie content of dishes. We propose to make a liver cake with a layer of cottage cheese and processed cheese, it turns out very tender and no less tasty.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 9
Wash the liver, peel, coarsely chop and grind with a meat grinder or blender.
step 2 out of 9
Cut the leeks into thin strips.
step 3 out of 9
Add eggs, sour cream, buckwheat flour, baking powder, salt, spices and onions to the chopped liver. Knead the dough.
step 4 out of 9
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, grease it with sunflower oil, divide the dough into several parts, depending on the size of the baking sheet. Pour some of the dough onto a baking sheet and form a rectangular cake with a thickness of up to 1 centimeter. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 25-30 minutes until tender.
step 5 out of 9
For a layer, combine melted cheese and cottage cheese. If the curd is too dry, you can dilute it with a tablespoon of milk. It is better to give preference to processed cheese, which has a thinner consistency and does not have any flavors.
step 6 out of 9
Wash the bell pepper, remove the seeds and partitions, cut the pulp into small cubes. Chop the greens with a knife.
step 7 out of 9
Combine pepper, herbs, cheese and cottage cheese, add salt and seasonings to taste, mix thoroughly.
step 8 out of 9
Cut the finished liver cake into several pieces, depending on the desired size of the cake. Collect the cake as follows: coat the liver cakes with a cheese-curd layer, folding them one by one, grease the cakes on the sides so that the cake is well saturated.
step 9 out of 9
Put the liver cake in the refrigerator for several hours and serve chilled.

Bon Appetit!
