Pepper chunks in tomato juice

A recipe for true bell pepper lovers. Pieces of this juicy vegetable are flavored with aromatic spices and tomato juice, which only enhances the natural taste of the pepper. We recommend using peppers of different colors - this makes the workpiece even more beautiful and appetizing. Tomato juice can be used both at home and from the store from the package. An important point: the purchased juice already contains salt, so you should be careful when adding salt to the preparation.

Rinse the bell peppers thoroughly with running water. After washing, cut each fruit in half and remove the seeds. Cut out the stalk with the tip of a knife.

Cut the prepared pepper halves lengthwise into two or three slices. The resulting pieces should not be too thin and small.

Pour tomato juice in the specified amount into a large saucepan. We put the saucepan on the stove and heat the juice to a boil.

In the process of heating tomato juice, add both types of pepper, bay leaves, cloves, granulated sugar and salt to it. If tomato juice already contains salt, then reduce the amount of added salt to taste. We also pour vegetable oil and vinegar essence into the juice. From the moment it boils, cook the tomato mass for two to three minutes.

After the specified time has elapsed, immerse the chopped bell pepper in boiling juice, mix and bring the mass to a boil again. After boiling, cook the peppers for fifteen minutes.

Put hot peppers together with tomato juice on pre-sterilized and dried jars and screw them with dry sterile lids. Turn the blanks upside down to check the tightness and wrap them in a warm blanket. In this position, let the jars cool slowly, after which we put them in a cool, dark place for storage.
