Peppers marinated in tomato sauce

I propose to prepare a fragrant appetizer from bell pepper. Pickled peppers in tomato sauce are quite aromatic and bright not only in color, but also in taste. The appetizer can be served as a stand-alone dish or used to prepare dishes such as cabbage rolls.

Wash and dry the tomatoes and bell peppers thoroughly. Cut the tomatoes in half, remove the stalk, and then pass through the juicer. You can also use a meat grinder or blender, but in this case, the tomato mass will need to be wiped through a sieve. Pour the tomato juice into a heavy-bottomed saucepan and place over medium heat.

Meanwhile, peel the bell peppers from the seeds and core, and then cut into 4-6 pieces, depending on the size, to make slices.

Peel the garlic, rinse and cut into thin slices.

Add the required amount of granulated sugar, table salt, vegetable oil, chopped garlic and black pepper to the tomato filling. Stir well and place over medium heat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for about 3-5 minutes.

Put the chopped bell pepper in boiling tomato sauce and cook for 25-30 minutes. 5 minutes before cooking, pour in vinegar and stir. Prepare the jars, wash and sterilize them in the oven, microwave, or water bath. Pour boiling water over the lids or simmer in a saucepan for about 10 minutes.

Gently arrange the hot appetizer in sterile jars and screw with sterile lids. Turn the jars of peppers upside down. Leave as it is until it cools completely, wrapped in a warm blanket.
