Layered, brittle and crunchy products are obtained from puff yeast-free dough, which go well with creamy fillings and fresh, juicy berries. This is how the cake will turn out according to this recipe, and it is also so beautiful that it can be safely served at the festive table.

Remove the puff pastry from the packaging and let it defrost completely. Cut the butter into small pieces and leave to stand at room temperature for half an hour.

Place the thawed dough on a piece of parchment and roll out. You should have a layer of dough with a thickness of 3-4 mm, from which you cut out a circle with a diameter of 30-33 cm. Transfer the parchment with the dough blank to a baking sheet and place in an oven preheated to 180 ° C.

Bake for 10-15 minutes, until the dough rises well and browns.

Take out the finished puff pastry and press down on its central part, leaving a distance of about 2 cm from the edge. Do this while the cake is hot, using a heaping spoon.

Prepare your strawberries. Rinse it, remove the leaves, and then dry the berries. If the berry is small, you can leave it intact, if it is large, cut it in half. Put the soft butter in a deep bowl, add sugar and beat in the eggs. Beat the mixture with a whisk or mixer until smooth. Then add the lemon zest, liqueur and vanilla extract. If you do not have liquor and vanilla extract, then it is better not to replace these ingredients with anything, but cook the pie without them. It will still be tasty, although it will lose interesting flavor notes.

Transfer the resulting mass to the center of the crust, spread the strawberries on top. Sprinkle with almond petals and powdered sugar (40 g). Return the filled crust to the oven and bake at 180 ° C for 20 minutes.
