Tomato wedges with bell pepper

A salad of ripe tomatoes and sweet peppers will help you out when guests unexpectedly appear on your doorstep, because all you need is to open a jar with a fragrant preparation and put it into a beautiful dish. A delicious vegetable snack will complement any hot dinner.

Wash the tomatoes under running water and cut into 4 large slices, removing the stalk.

Peel the onion and rinse.

Cut the onion in half and chop it into half rings.

Divide the onions into sterile jars.

Place in each jar 2 cloves and peppercorns and a leaf of laurel.

Boil water, add sugar, salt, stir and cook for 3 minutes. Turn off heat and add vinegar. Mix the marinade well again and pour it into the jars, without adding 1 cm to the top.

Place the jars of tomatoes in a wide saucepan, cover 2/3 with water and simmer over low heat, covered with lids for 5 minutes.

Take out the jar one at a time and immediately tighten the lids. Turn the container upside down, cover with a blanket and leave to cool for a day. After 2 weeks, the tomatoes will already be well marinated.
