Tomato wedges in gelatin

We offer you a recipe for spicy tomatoes marinated with onions in gelatin. Such an unusual, but very tasty appetizer immediately flies off the table. For the preparation of the marinade, we will use cane sugar, which will give the marinade a beautiful color, and the preparation will have a pleasant taste with hints of caramel, which is ideally combined with the sourness of the tomatoes.

For cooking, select dense ripe tomatoes. We wash them under running water, let them dry a little and cut them into small slices of arbitrary shape. We clean the onion, rinse and cut into thin rings.

Put sugar, salt and spices in a saucepan. Fill with water and put on fire. Bring to a boil, simmer for 2 minutes, then add vinegar, boil for another minute and remove from heat.

Put the gelatin in a small bowl, add a couple of tablespoons of warm boiled water, stir well and leave to swell. Then add it to the hot marinade and mix well.

Put chopped tomatoes and onions in a pre-washed and sterilized jar. Pour hot marinade into the jar and tighten the lid tightly. We leave the workpiece until it cools completely at room temperature, after which we put it in the refrigerator for storage.
