Canned tomatoes without sterilization are a convenient and quick way to preserve tomatoes for the winter. It is better to select tomatoes ripe, fleshy and thick-skinned, they will better retain their shape.

Wash and dry the tomatoes well. On each vegetable, make several punctures with a fine toothpick.

Wash and sterilize the cans in advance. Divide the tomatoes into the jars. Boil water in a saucepan and pour boiling water over the tomatoes in jars. Leave the blanks for 20 minutes.

Peel the leaves of the bird cherry twigs, they will be used as a flavoring agent.

Put the cherry sprigs in a saucepan, pour in the water. For one liter of marinade, you will need 5 tablespoons of sugar and 1.5 tablespoons of salt. Bring the marinade to a boil and cook the marinade for 2-3 minutes.

Empty the cans. Pour the prepared marinade into the jars, put the cherry sprigs in the jars. In the last step, add vinegar essence: for a two-liter jar - 1 teaspoon, for a liter - 0.5 teaspoon.

Use a seaming machine to secure the lids to the cans. Cover the seams with a warm blanket and leave them upside down until they cool completely. Store tomatoes in a cool dry place.
