If you are tired of the classic combination of canned tomatoes with dill, you can try an excellent alternative - tomatoes with basil. This herb, beloved by Italians, can not only impart a fragrant aroma to tomatoes, but also significantly affect their taste. We suggest using citric acid instead of vinegar, and slightly increasing the amount of sugar. Tomatoes in such a marinade are sweetish, tender and very fragrant.
Ingredients
Cooking process
Tomatoes should be selected mature, but not soft, firm. It's good if they are about the same size. Wash the tomatoes from pollution, dry them. We prick the tomatoes with a toothpick in several places - this will help the skin not to burst during boiling water treatment. Peel the garlic. We free the washed bell pepper from seeds and stalks. Cut the pulp into segments. Put the chives in the jars on the basil and pour the peas of both types of pepper. Next, put the prepared tomatoes quite tightly, alternating them with the remaining basil and pieces of bell pepper.
After the specified time has elapsed, pour the water from the cans into a separate saucepan. To keep vegetables and herbs in the jar, it is convenient to cover the jars with a special slotted lid when draining. Put granulated sugar, salt and mustard beans into the drained liquid. Bring the marinade to a boil and cook for a couple of minutes. Turn off the stove, immediately add citric acid and stir vigorously.
Bon Appetit!
