Thanks to the addition of cocoa powder, the plum jam acquires a rich chocolate flavor. In terms of consistency and taste, this dessert is similar to chocolate gravy with pieces of berries and nuts. If desired, the cocoa powder can be replaced with a dark chocolate bar.

Wash the plums well and remove the tails. If the fruits are small, cut in half and remove the seeds, if large, then you need to cut somewhere in 6 pieces. Place the fruits in a high-walled bowl, but it should not be made of metal. Pour half the granulated sugar into the plums, leave it in the refrigerator overnight. During this time, the fruits will release juice, which will dissolve the sugar crystals. Open the refrigerator from time to time and stir the product.

In the morning, add the remaining sugar and nuts, thoroughly washed in warm water. Walnuts and almonds are preferred, but you can experiment with different types of nuts. The nuts in the jam will become soft and marinate well in the syrup.

Pour the sifted cocoa powder into the mass and gently mix a little with the jam.

Transfer the mass to a saucepan with a thick bottom and sides, put on medium heat. After boiling, reduce heat and cook the jam, stirring occasionally, for 35-40 minutes.
