Puree from ranetki and pumpkin for the winter

The combination of apple and pumpkin is very advantageous due to the fact that the apple sourness well sets off the sweetness and taste of the vegetable. It is also a great way to add pumpkin to your child's diet without even noticing it.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 8
Rinse the pumpkin under running water, divide it in half and using a spoon, take out the seeds along with all the accompanying entrails. Cut off the skin and cut the flesh into small cubes or sticks.
step 2 out of 8
Place the pumpkin in a saucepan and cover with sugar. Stir everything so that the pieces are completely covered with it. Leave it on the table for the pumpkin to release the juice, and the sugar begins to gradually dissolve.
step 3 out of 8
In the meantime, peel the washed apples, inspect for tainted barrels and cut out these places, if necessary. Remove the seeds from the core and cut the pulp into small cubes or wedges.
step 4 out of 8
Transfer the apples to the pumpkin pot and mix thoroughly. Cover the container with a lid and put on medium heat, bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
step 5 out of 8
In a separate container, pour boiling water over the lemon and leave for a couple of minutes. Then wipe dry with a towel, remove the zest on a fine grater, and squeeze the juice out of the pulp.
step 6 out of 8
After boiling the apples and pumpkin, reduce the heat, add the zest and lemon juice to the saucepan and cook until the ingredients are completely softened. Depending on the type of pumpkin and the size of the pieces, this can take 20-30 minutes. Stir the ingredients periodically to cook evenly.
step 7 out of 8
Remove cooked vegetables from heat and chop until smooth, using a hand blender. If not, you can grind the apple and pumpkin through a sieve. Return the resulting puree to the stove, bring to a boil and cook over low heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring vigorously.
step 8 out of 8
Place the mashed potatoes in pre-sterilized jars, close the lid tightly and arrange upside down. Wrap with a towel or blanket and leave to cool completely, then store in a dark and cool place.
Bon Appetit!
