Winter blanks can make cooking a lot easier and save time. For example, it is enough to put a canned soup base in a boiling broth and a full-fledged first course is ready in a matter of minutes. Using this recipe, you can prepare a pickle base without cucumbers.

Pour the pearl barley overnight with water, and in the morning change the water and boil the barley until tender.
