The first course is not necessarily time consuming and expensive. It is quite possible to save time and money by preparing a "budget" version of pickle with stewed meat. Believe me, in taste it is not inferior to that prepared according to a traditional recipe, and even surpasses in aroma.

Cook the pearl barley in a separate saucepan. Pour water for the soup into another saucepan, boil. Cut the potatoes into cubes and put them in boiling water, add bay leaves and peppercorns there.

Chop onions, carrots, celery. In a frying pan, first fry the onion until golden brown, then add carrots and celery to it, sauté for 5 minutes.

Add finely chopped pickled cucumbers to the vegetables in the pan, followed by tomato paste, mix. Put the stew, leave on the fire for another 5 minutes.

We send the finished barley to the saucepan for the soup, we transfer the vegetables from the pan to the same place. If necessary, salt, cook for another 10 minutes. Turn off the heat, let it brew for another 10 minutes. We invite everyone to the table to try!
