Home-baked lovers have a special relationship with bagels. Because the whole process of their preparation - from kneading the dough to carefully wrapping the jam into a roller - is accompanied by the desire to create small delicacies with his own hands. Homemade bagels are always especially tasty and cannot be compared to store-bought ones. Especially important is the fact that the quality of the ingredients is known and controlled.

We take the margarine out of the refrigerator in advance so that it becomes completely soft and pliable. We put it in a bowl in which we will knead the dough.

Put the specified amount of cold sour cream to the soft margarine.

Pour granulated sugar on top and break the egg.

Mix everything together with a spoon until relatively homogeneous.

Then add vanilla sugar and baking powder. We mix. Sift the flour through a fine sieve to enrich it with air and loosen it. Add flour in portions, gradually, monitoring the consistency of the dough. After kneading, the finished mass should be soft, but elastic, easy to use.

Roll a bun out of the dough and cut it into four equal parts.

Roll each part of the dough into a ball and roll it out with a rolling pin into a thin round layer. Then we cut each layer into eight segments. It is convenient to use a round pizza knife for this.

Put a small amount (slightly less than a teaspoon) of thick jam on the outer part of each segment.

Then we fold the bagel towards the inner narrow part. Similarly, we form bagels from the entire remaining dough.

Grease the baking sheet with vegetable oil or cover with oiled parchment. Put the formed bagels on a baking sheet.

We send a baking sheet with bagels into an oven already preheated to 180 degrees and bake for twenty to twenty-five minutes. It is important not to overexpose delicate products in the oven, otherwise they will be tough and rough. We take out the finished ruddy bagels from the oven and transfer them to a serving dish.

Sprinkle the packed bagels with powdered sugar through a strainer.
