Caesar salad with smoked chicken breast and croutons

There are many ways to prepare the famous Caesar salad. Your attention is presented to one of these, no less tasty, ways. The main ingredient in this dish is croutons. But the taste will be special if you use Parmesan cheese and season the salad with a special sauce, the preparation method of which you will also find in the recipe.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 7
We start with the preparation of the lettuce leaves. If necessary, remove those leaves that have begun to deteriorate or wilted. Then we rinse the leaves, fill them with cold water and leave them in water for one hour. We do this procedure so that the leaves are juicy and crispy. To save time, you can pour cold water over the leaves, add ice cubes to them and leave for 15 minutes.
step 2 out of 7
Let's start making croutons. Cut the loaf into slices of medium thickness, then cut off the crust so that only the pulp remains and cut it into cubes of the same size. We keep the cubes the same size so that they bake evenly and look appetizing. Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread cubes of white bread on it, trying to leave a small distance between them. Sprinkle the cubes with olive oil and add the garlic cloves to them. We send the baking sheet to the oven, preheated to 150 degrees and dry them for 15 minutes.
step 3 out of 7
Remove the lettuce leaves from the water and remove all the liquid with a paper towel. Tear the leaves into small pieces into a salad assembly dish and distribute them evenly over the dish.
step 4 out of 7
Cut the smoked chicken breast into small cubes and spread over the leaves.
step 5 out of 7
We wash the quail eggs under running water, pour a small amount of water into a saucepan and carefully lay out the eggs. Cook eggs over medium heat for 5 minutes after boiling water. After that, we recommend pouring cold water over the finished eggs immediately after removing from the stove, which will allow you to easily remove the eggshell.
step 6 out of 7
Then we start making the sauce. Combine mayonnaise with soy sauce, sour cream, squeeze lemon juice and finely chopped garlic clove to the mixture. Mix everything thoroughly and season the lettuce leaves and smoked breast, then mix everything gently.
step 7 out of 7
Let's start assembling the salad. On top of the already seasoned salad and chicken, lay out crackers, cherry tomatoes cut in half and a quail egg. Sprinkle the collected salad with Parmesan cheese grated on a fine grater. We immediately serve the prepared salad to the table! Bon Appetit!
