Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 9
In order for the seals to be well stored in the winter and not to explode, it is necessary to rinse and sterilize the cans well. We put the jars in the oven and sterilize at 110 degrees for 10 minutes. We wash the lids and boil.
step 2 out of 9
Choose hard cucumbers. Soak them in cold water for 1-2 hours. Then we rinse well and cut off the ends on both sides.
step 3 out of 9
Cut the cucumbers into slices approximately 5 mm thick. You can use a vegetable cutter to make slices of the same thickness.
step 4 out of 9
Peel the onion, rinse and cut into thin half rings. We add it to the cucumbers.
step 5 out of 9
Add salt and sugar to vegetables, mix thoroughly. We close the container with vegetables with a clean plate, put a load on top, for example, a container with water. We leave the vegetables for 3-4 hours so that the juice stands out from the cucumbers and the vegetables become a little soft, they will fit more easily into the jar and after rolling the salad will not settle.
step 6 out of 9
After 3-4 hours, we start rolling the salad. Pour 2 tablespoons of oil on the bottom of the jar, put the cucumbers with onions, add a few chili pieces, peppercorns and cloves. Add apple cider vinegar to the jar.
step 7 out of 9
Pour the juice from the vegetables into a saucepan and boil for 2 minutes. Then we pour it into the jar so that it covers the vegetables. If not enough, you can add a little boiling water.
step 8 out of 9
Cover the jars with a lid, do not twist! We boil water in a large saucepan, put a towel or waffle napkin on the bottom, put jars of salad to sterilize in a saucepan for 10-12 minutes after boiling. After the sterilization has come to an end, carefully using a grip, we take out the cans onto the stand and tighten the lids tightly. Turn the cans upside down and cover with a terry towel. We leave the seaming at room temperature until it cools completely. After that, we remove the seaming in a dark, dry place.
step 9 out of 9
Our Winter King salad is ready to eat. It is recommended to chill it in the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes before serving. Bon Appetit!
