Green tomato salad without vinegar

Green tomatoes can be used to make a delicious salad for the winter. It is prepared without vinegar, because green tomatoes are quite sour. The recipe will not take much effort from you. All salad vegetables are chopped and stewed for 2 hours. Additional sterilization is not required.

Wash green tomatoes well and remove the bases of the stalks. Then cut the tomatoes into medium-sized cubes and transfer them to a jam pot, that is, with a thick bottom.

Peel and wash the carrots and onions. Chop the carrots on a Korean grater or cut into thin cubes. Chop the onions into small cubes. Transfer these vegetables to the tomatoes.

Peel sweet peppers from seeds, wash and chop into small cubes. Transfer it to a saucepan as well.

Mix all the chopped vegetables and leave for a while to give juice, but you can stew right away.

Add tomato paste to vegetables.

Pour the required amount of vegetable oil into a saucepan, and then stir the vegetables with tomato and oil again.

Place the saucepan with vegetables over medium heat and bring the vegetables to a boil. Pour the calculated amount of sugar, salt and red pepper into the boiled salad. We do not add vinegar to the salad. Simmer the green tomato salad over low heat for 2–2.5 hours. Do not forget to stir it periodically with a wooden spoon. Be sure to try the salad. Put the prepared hot salad in sterile jars and immediately seal it tightly with boiled lids. Turn the jars upside down, cover with a warm blanket and, after cooling, store in a cool place. This salad can be kept at home as well.
