Salad with squid, apples and green peas

Although squid is an overseas seafood, they have firmly entered our culinary reality and often appear on every table. Salads with them are a frequent treat at both a holiday and in the daily menu. We suggest preparing this recipe with the addition of apples. They provide an interesting sweet flavor that goes surprisingly well with eggs, onions, and canned peas. Traditional mayonnaise is ideal as a dressing.

We wash the squids thoroughly in running water. We clean the carcasses from the translucent surface film.

In a saucepan, heat the salted water to a boil and lower the prepared carcasses into it. Cook for no more than two minutes so that the tender pulp does not become rough and rubbery. Immediately after the specified time, the squid is removed from the pan, put on a plate and cooled.

Then we cut the boiled carcasses into thin strips or rings, which we immediately place in a salad bowl.

Cook eggs hard-boiled, fill with cold water and let cool completely. Chop them into small pieces with a knife and pour over the squid.

Onions are best used in salad varieties - they are softer in taste and less bitter. Peel the onion, rinse, dry and cut into small cubes. Add the onion to the salad bowl.

Peel the apple, cut out the seed box. Cut the pulp into short strips. It is advisable to choose sweet and sour apples with firm pulp so that they fit harmoniously into the overall taste of the salad. Pour apple pieces into the rest of the ingredients.

Separate canned green peas from the liquid and pour into a salad bowl.

Add mayonnaise to the ingredients.

We mix everything together, taste it. If necessary, add additional salt and do not forget about ground black pepper.

For a beautiful presentation, we tamp the salad portions into small cups or rosettes and tilt them onto flat individual plates. We remove the form, and decorate the surface of the evenly formed salad with a sprig of fresh parsley. It is recommended to serve immediately after preparation.
