Salad with squid, egg, onion and mayonnaise

Salad from the category of "tasty and simple". And also fast. With a minimum of ingredients and time spent, you get a hearty tender salad with juicy spicy notes of onion. Such a dish will serve as a cold appetizer on a festive table, and an excellent family dinner. The most important thing here is properly prepared squid. Defrost squid and rinse thoroughly in running water. Using a knife, remove the superficial transparent skin, pull out the central cartilage. Dip the prepared carcasses in salted boiling water and cook for no more than two minutes. After that, we take out the squid and transfer it to a plate for cooling.

Cut the cooled carcasses into thin rings or strips.

Peel the onions, rinse and chop with a knife into small cubes.

Place the onion in a bowl and pour boiling water over it. We keep in this state for four to five minutes. This manipulation will get rid of the onion bitterness and excessive harshness. We put the onion on a sieve and squeeze it out of excess moisture.

Cook eggs hard-boiled, fill with cold water and cool. We clean them and either chop finely with a knife or grate them.

In a salad bowl, mix the prepared ingredients: squid strips, squeezed onions and chopped eggs. Add mayonnaise and mix everything together. We taste the salad. Add salt and black pepper if necessary.
